OUR
STORY
FROM BARRIERS TO BRIDGES
At Mind the Gap Together, Inc., we believe lasting change starts with access. Every day, individuals and families in Pinellas County face real, compounding gaps—in education, mental health care, employment, and economic opportunity.
Rather than duplicating services, we partner with local organizations to fill in the gaps—offering resource navigation, group counseling, application support, employment guidance, and more. Our approach is trauma-informed, people-centered, and rooted in equity.
We're not here to lead—we’re here to walk beside.
Because everyone deserves the chance to move forward.

Our Programs
At Mind the Gap Together, our programs are built to do exactly that—mind the gap between people and the support systems they need to thrive.
We design and deliver services that respond directly to the real barriers individuals face in areas like mental health, housing, education, and employment. Whether someone is re-entering society after incarceration, navigating a mental health crisis, or simply trying to get back on stable ground—we’re here to walk with them.
Our approach is:
-
Trauma-informed
-
Culturally responsive
-
Solution-focused
-
Rooted in community collaboration
Each program is developed in partnership with local organizations and tailored to meet people where they are—with respect, dignity, and a clear path forward.

Why our work matters
Mental health challenges continue to affect thousands of individuals and families throughout Pinellas County. While the need for support continues to grow, many residents still face significant barriers to accessing care, resources, and community connections.
-
45% of Pinellas County residents surveyed identified behavioral health as a leading health concern.
-
34% of residents report being diagnosed with depression or anxiety.
-
34.3% of youth surveyed reported feeling sad or hopeless for two or more consecutive weeks and stopped participating in usual activities.
-
50% of residents with unmet mental health needs cited barriers to care, including transportation challenges, difficulty finding providers, scheduling limitations, and inability to take time away from work.
At Mind the Gap Together, we work alongside community partners to bridge these gaps, connect people to resources, and create pathways to improved mental well-being.

We are a registered, community-based non-profit 501(c)3 organization based in St. Petersburg, FL. We provide additional support and services through partnering with existing community agencies and nonprofits.
